Who do you Trust? + BONUS!

I stood in my kitchen. Feeling intense pressure to doubt God because I felt alone. “I’m trusting YOU! – I’m CHOOSING TO!!!” The phrases that flew out of my mouth became the chorus to “I’m Trusting You.”

Choosing to trust someone is no small thing. Are they reliable? Worthy of my trust?
Are they able to help even in the storms of life? There are many factors to consider.

Many believers have gone before us on this journey. I was inspired to include them in the Bridge of this song. These Hebrews -11-folks were also tested in their faith. And yet this path offers all of us LIFE, FORGIVENESS, HOPE, LOVE, STRENGTH and TRUTH – from the Very Maker of Heaven and Earth: God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! WOW.

1 Peter 1 says our faith is more precious than gold.

So, after my full-throated declaration in the kitchen, I went to work on the verses; the Truths upon which I stand. They are the reason for my hope in Him. May it galvanize your resolve to follow Him despite whatever storms come your way.

BONUS DAY! Today, I’m including a song, Two Feasts without Yeast, written for a Vacation Bible School. The theme is, “Jesus said, “I am the Bread of Life.” But to Jewish ears then and now, that reaches all the way back to Exodus 12! There, we find the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were both commanded by God as the Jews were preparing to leave Egypt. From that historic time until the birth of Christ, God stewarded the Messianic line, and Jesus became the fulfillment of those feasts. He was the “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” (John 1) So Jesus’ death fulfilled the sacrifice of the Passover lamb, and no more lambs need be sacrificed. At the same time, He was the sin-free / yeast-free “Bread of Life.” Matzoh became a symbol of His body which was broken for us. Both of these are now key elements in communion that comes from His last Passover Supper with His Disciples. He told us to remember His body was to be broken and His blood poured out for our sins. (Matthew, Mark and Luke)
Finally, if you enjoy Klezmer music, you’ll enjoy this! *(AND The Charts)

PS – the VBS kids did some motions but had the most fun shouting, “NO YEAST!” after the phrase was sung. Finally they ‘danced / walked’ around in a big circle at the ending…!
*Many thanks to Alex Medlock for his vocal recording and balancing of tracks!

God’s best to you as you seek Him whole-heartedly!
